Perfect place for our 5 day stay in Krakow- central for everything we needed. Although it is a hostel with bunk bedded rooms we stayed in a double bed ensuite room. Very comfy, very warm and with the use of the kitchen too. this is not luxury style but clean and friendly.
We stayed at hostel Folklore because hostel bookers had over booked our original choice and Folklore was booked by that hostel (which was nice that we didn't have to look for a new place to stay). We had a private twin room which was clean but would have preferred a mirror and a towel that didn't feel like sandpaper over the small tv in the room. One of the bathrooms had wiring close to the shower, so we chose to use the other wc. Overall, the hostel was perfectly fine and in a wonderful location; walking distance to old town and Kazimierz.
We stayed at this hostel 2 nights in the room 11 with the own bathroom. The building is very old and the ceilings are high, there was also an old furnace in the room with beautiful tiles, I liked it so much!
The room and hostel in general are simple, but clean. There is a kitchen, so we could make us tea or whatever. Moreover, the location is great! 5 min and you are in the center of the city.
The girl at the reception desk (I didn't notice her name) was very nice and friendly.
We enjoyed our trip to Krakow and our stay at Hostel Folklor as well!
Cheap. Safe. Clean. Great location right between the Old Town and trendy Kazimierz. Right near Przystanek Pierogarnia (a great pierogi place) and the kielbasa van. The girls working there were very nice and helpful, allowing us to use their printer and do laundry. It has its quirks as well - we had some trouble getting our room key to work and the inside of the building is a little rundown. Our private room, however, was very spacious and clean.Overall, it was a great value. We would stay here again. Probably the cheapest private room you can get in Krakow.
The reception is very helpful (thank you for the welcoming) and the place very clean. However, the rooms are without souls, the facade is decrepit, the doors creak loudly, there are no shutters on the windows and there is a lot of traffic on the street. The bathroom is shared (but new and clean).
This lack many little things that make a welcoming place, like ... you know, a desk, a chair, a mirror, a soap-dish in the shower, a light above the mirror in the bathroom ... it's very impersonal. However, it's near the center and good value.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hostel Wielopole aCesar. The location is within walking distance of the train station as well as the Old Town sites. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We had three wonderful nights of sleep during our stay. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. On our last night, they ordered us a cab to the airport in the morning that cost half as much as it would have if we had tried to find our own. I highly recommend staying here while in Krakow.
I stayed here for two days. Its a nice and friendly place. The staff is very helpfull. The location is close to the city center and the Mainmarket. I can recomand the place espacially for backpackers. The booking on there website was a bit difficult. Its easier to call them.
The stuff of aCesar rescued our holidays. We booked a room for four persons for three nights on Hostelbookers.com, but in fact aCesar is not working together with hostelbookers, so they didn't recieved our reservation. However, they somehow managed to let us sleep there for two nights and also booked a room in another hostel for us for the last night. We are really grateful for what they did for us, thank you so much!
About the Hostel: It is located in the second level of a nice house close to the old city and not far from the lively jewish quarter. There is no need to go by public transport, you can simply walk everywhere. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms too. Also there is coffee and tea for free. There are just a few rooms, so it is personal and the stuff is very friendly.
